Jason LaMountain, Senior Communications Consultant
Weathering the winters in rural Maine may give Jason LaMountain a leg up in weathering even the most complex of research studies. His usual reports of multiple feet of snow at his home office make the rest of us feel like Portsmouth is somewhat tropical.
Of course, that’s not all we thank Jason for. He manages much of the company’s work related to wireless services, the Internet, and convergent media. In fact, telecommunications and information technology are his specialties. Jason’s recent work has included annual tracking studies for DIRECTV and the Recording Industry Association of America.
Jason has also played a key role in several of Taylor’s international projects, applying his strong knowledge of Asian business practices, language, and culture to help our clients better understand the burgeoning communications market in the Pacific Rim.
Before joining Taylor in 1991, Jason was an analyst with the Yankee Group. He has also worked with the Cores Corporation, a Tokyo-based consumer electronics and telecommunications research and consulting company. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received dual B.A. degrees in international relations and Japanese studies.
Jason wasn’t always a “Mainer”—he met his wife on the New York City subway, and he enjoys the opportunity to pry himself from quantitative analysis to spend time with her and their three children. He also enjoys coaching his son’s Odyssey of the Mind team and is passionate about Asian food—including Japanese eel (unagi) and live octopus.
