Neil MacIver, Director of Information and Technology
If Neil could be a star on any primetime television series, he’d choose Jack Bauer on “24.” While Neil may not be constantly saving the nation from crises, managing Taylor’s IT department can seem like just as important a job (to us, anyway). Neil integrates information technology with the company’s overall strategy, managing all IT vendor relationships and planning for the company’s future IT needs. In addition, Neil installs, manages, and maintains the company’s servers and evaluates all hardware, software, and telecommunications service purchases.
Neil maintains Taylor’s website and intranet site. He also acts as a management advisor on the state and use of information technologies at Taylor.
Prior to joining Taylor in 1998, Neil was the senior systems engineer for GTE-Benefit Resource Services, a Division of GTE. He also worked for six years as a computer specialist for Radio Shack Computer Centers. Neil completed the Certified Novell Engineer Course and obtained his CNE at Orange Systems in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Neil doesn’t travel without his Boston Red Sox baseball cap and spends much of his free time playing indoor and outdoor soccer for a local team. He’s also a devout follower of (and taxi driver to) his kids’ soccer games, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children (and his other baby—his 1976 classic Mini Cooper).
